Ochre – Color as Inspiration

If yellow represents happiness and optimism, then ochre,  (yellow with a distinctive dinginess) represents those same sentiments with a dose of healthy realism added to the mix. It’s a color I have always been partial to because of its versatility. It can be used as a neutral or as a contrast.

Here is a sampling of miniature paintings (ACEOs) I have coming up over the next couple of months on ebay at http://www.ebay.com/usr/monroart. I am very excited about sharing these new little creations which make lovely gifts for the holidays and are collected by art lovers around the world.

  1. These are great. Flower eater really grabbed me, but I like them all and I feel together they make a little mythology, almost. And I agree with you about ochre. Versatile color.
