Artists often suppress and redirect strong emotion into their artwork. Learning to do this wasn’t easy for me, but with practice uncomfortable emotional states have become a reliable source of inspiration.
Don’t think; just do. This is what works for me if my anger is festering and serving no good purpose other than torturing me, which can result in an inability to do anything at all.
I pick up a brush, a pencil or pen, or pull out the crayons. I am often surprised by the result!
